Death Valley '49er Presidents

1949 - 1959 : 1960 - 1969 : 1970 - 1979 : 1980 - 1989 : 1990 - 1999 : 2000 - 2009 : 2010 - 2018

Our Current President

2019 Dennis Harders

My time in the military began in June 1967 when I spent three years on active duty in the US Army (with one of those years in Vietnam).  In December 1978 I joined the New Mexico National Guard and received my Commission in June 1980.  After six years with the National Guard, I transferred to the US Army Reserve and retired as a Major in September 1994.
In July 1970 I began working for Thrifty Drug and Discount Stores in its management program and left as a store manager July 1987.  After working for a grocery broker for fifteen months, I went to work for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. (The chewing gum company) and retired after twenty-five years in 2005.
In 2007 I joined the Death Valley ‘49ers and since then have been actively involved with many of its committees.  I previously served as 2nd Vice President, Vice President, and President and have enjoyed meeting and working with our group of volunteers through the years.
In closing, I want to welcome you to the 70th Annual Death Valley ‘49ers Encampment November 4th -10th, 2019.
