Membership and Information

When you join the Death Valley ’49ers you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to expand public awareness of Death Valley, protecting and preserving it for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

The way the 49ers have been operating for many, many years is outdated and does not support the organization. We are going to increase the membership fees this year to get closer to covering our general operating expenses. This year our memberships will cost $100.00 for a single membership and $125.00 for a family membership.

The new membership fees go into effect Sunday, March 1, 2026. This fee increase does not affect the Life Members but you could still make a donation to help cover our annual expenses and donations are greatly appreciated. For the 2027 encampment and in the future the Board is going to examine the idea of charging a separate fee for the encampment and any other events we might put on. This is the way the majority of non-profit organizations operate and we need to come in alignment with them to survive. I sincerely hope everyone understands and will support the 49ers now and in the future. Why become a member?

To attend the '49ers Encampment and participate in the activities, you must purchase a membership. Your annual membership is an "all events" pass to the Encampment except for special events that may be offered.

Since we have limited volunteers to staff our membership booth at the encampment we are asking that you purchase your membership online prior to the encampment.  This will also give us an estimate of attendance for planning purposes. If paying with CASH OR CHECKS at the Encampment, please bring exact amount or a check made out to Death Valley '49ers.  There is wifi available so you can purchase online using a credit card at the encampment, Please bring your online receipt with you when you pick up your packet.

Family Membership $125.00 

  •  A Family membership covers a couple and children under the age of 18

Membership Levels

The Death Valley '49ers offer four levels of membership:  Individual, Family, Corporate, and Life.  If you have questions regarding our Membership program please send us a note via our Contact Page.

Individual Membership $100.00

Corporate membership ~ $300

Corporate Members may include local businesses, large corporations, civic groups, veteran’s organizations, societies and local community groups. Membership gives businesses and groups the opportunity to demonstrate to the community that they support our efforts while strengthening their own business opportunities.
